![]() While I was typing this you responded to the thread and your statement about getting along just fine without a SG presently caught my eye.Ī SG is one of those machines that seem unnecessary until you get one. One good thing about manual SG's is that they are seldom worn out since people tire of running them continually in a production environment and thus the ways are not worn out. I would expect to see those Harig's go for well under $500 and wouldn't be at all surprised if they went for under $100. To the OP, if your machine auction market is anything like that around here you may be surprised at how inexpensively these manual SG's sell for. I'd say the value of the chuck alone is closer to $100 and I personally wouldn't buy a permanent magnetic chuck for much more than $100. It may or may not be an OS Walker chuck but it is definitely a permanent magnet chuck and not the better, more desirable and expensive electromagnetic chuck.
